District Court is the largest unit in the District Attorney's Office. 42 experienced prosecuters in both Teller and El Paso Counties are assigned to this unit and are responsible for the criminal dockets in 17 felony courts. District Court prosecuters handle the most serious crimes, including murder, sexual assault, robbery, and burglary. In 2010, there were 4,119 felony cases filed. Law enforcement agencies presented a total of 5,184 cases for review and filing decisions.
